According to a survey done by Trends and Insights Africa (TIFA), Nairobi lawyer Karen Nyamu is currently ahead of Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Secretary-General Edwin Sifuna in the Nairobi County Senator race.

TIFA says that if elections were held today, Karen is likely to get 4% of the Nairobi votes ahead of Sifuna who is likely to get only 3% of the votes.

According to poll results released on Today, Karen who is United Democratic Alliance’s (UDA) aspirant, comes second as the most preferred Senate candidate ahead of other candidates including Sifuna who has also declared interest in the seat under the ODM party ticket.

Though Karen takes the the lead, the current Nairobi Senator Johnson Sakaja who has declared interest in the city’s governor seat is ahead of all of them with 8% of votes for Nairobians still prefer him as their Senator in the coming elections.

Tom wolf-lead research analyst-TIFA states that most voters will need more clarity as to what all the candidates want before they decide on whom to vote for as the Nairobi senator.

Tifa further revealed that several Nairobi residents have not yet decided on who they want to be their next senator.
