National Council of NGOs appeals for peace ahead of August polls

The NGO of Kenya has sent a passionate appeal to Kenyans to engage in peaceful campaigns as the country prepares for the August 9 election to elect its 5th president.

The NGO Council also condemned leaders who engage in name-calling and propagating hatred among leaders during campaigns

The NGO Council roots for decorum and maturity as politicians and their supporters reach out to Kenyans in various parts of the Country.

The NGOs Council Champions for peace and harmony in every part of the nation and calls for peaceful campaigns as politicians crisscross the country.

“The NGOs Council urges political leaders to avoid name calling instead sell policies and manifestos to the people on what they will do if elected,’ the NGOs Chair Stephen Cheboi said.

Cheboi also urges all Kenyans to reject leaders who use propaganda and hate as they seek support from Kenyans.

“The NGO Council  will continue to champion for peace and harmony among all Kenyans ahead of the 9th August 2022 General Elections. The NGO Council champions for free, fair, and credible elections.” He added.

He appealed to relevant authorities to ensure peace prevails in Kerio Valley saying the continued attacks by bandits is uncalled for and that security needs to be upheld in the region to save livelihoods affected by banditry.
