Bahati residents denied right to elect rightful leaders-Aspirant
An aspirant who lost in the UDA primaries in Bahati Constituency wants the exercise repeated to accord voters the rights.
Honest John Mbugua who came third in the nominations has accused incumbent Kimani Ngunjiri of manipulating the nomination exercise in his favor.
He said that the list of nomination officials was changed on 12th April, just two days to the nomination day.
He adds that despite reaching out to Nakuru County Election officials to have the officials trasfered to another constituency, nothing changed.
“ I discovered that the list was changed and had so many Ngunjiri’s allies.I did all I could only to find the same officials officiating the nominations,” Honest said
He has appealed to the party to consider reapeating the exersice before handing the official list to the IEBC.
“My demand and that of the people of Bahati is that the nominations must be reapeted and the current officials be disbanded,” he added.
In the nomination results,Ngunjiri was declared the winner with 6,698 votes ahead of John Karanja who garnered 4,153 votes while Honest got 2833 votes.
