Nairobi Grassroots Women Caucus Endorse Martha

Nairobi Grassroots women are a happy lot following the elevation of the honourable Martha Karua as the running mate of Azimio Presidential Candidate Raila Amolo Odinga.
Led by the Chairlady Jubilee in Starehe Mrs Emily Kiboi, the women are confident that Martha is the change agent the country needs.
Mrs Kiboi said, “As the Nairobi Women Caucus are happy. First, we would wish to congratulate Hon Martha Karua following her nomination as the running mate for Raila Odinga. We are so happy that the entire Azimio Coalition settled on one of our own, the Honourable Martha.
We are very confident that Martha is equal to the task and she is the best suited to push the women agenda forward. This is a historical milestone in the clamour for women in leadership who initiated the space for women in the top seats.
The legends such as Phoebe Asiyo, Zipporah Kittony, Julia Ojiambo, Wangari Maathai just to mention a few examples have made the women of Kenya proud. Our very own Martha is the newest in the list being the first ever Kenyan woman to inch closer to state House. She is just a step away from the house on the hill,” Mrs Kiboi said.
They continued to say, “Martha got the appointment out of merit. Firstly she is very firm against corruption and has never been mentioned in any scandal. Secondly, she is highly educated and competent in her rational decisions. Thirdly she is simple and down to earth. As Nairobi Women Caucus we see this as an answered prayer.”
She concluded by saying that they were going to hunt for votes in all corners of the country to make sure Raila Amolo Odinga becomes the fifth president deputised by Martha Karua.
“Martha Karua has done the women of Kenya proud. She has placed Kenya on the World Map by joining women who have tasted presidency including Samia Suluhu of Tanzania, Joyce Banda of Malawi, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf of Liberia among others.
We assure Martha of our full support in the forthcoming general elections. Her win is our win. Her victory is our Victory.”
