Oduol Recognises Widows Champion
By John Kariuki
Incoming Siaya Deputy Governor William Oduol has recognised a champion of widows plight.
In a post seen by The Times, he narrates
“It’s my privilege to recognize Mrs Roseline Orwa the founder of RONA Foundation and champion for Widows empowerment for her efforts towards establishing a policy document seeking for it’s adaptation in the County Assembly of Siaya that would put into effect legislations protecting widows from discrimination.
Having gone through various clauses of the chatter, I reaffirm the need to implement these laws.
Our administration will use it’s numbers in the county Assembly to develop policies that will alleviate the widows status within the county cognisant to the fact that all women are equal before the law and their rights are inalienable, universal and non-transferable.”
