When he humbly accepted the mandate by the people of Ruiru Biashara ward to serve them as their Member of County Assembly MCA, little did Elijah Njoroge popularly known as Kûrûria know that he would quickly climb the ladder of success to become Gatundu North MP on an independent ticket.

In what has left the incumbent and other competitors scratching their heads, Kûrûria braced and diffused partisan euphoria which has taken the Constituency by storm.

For example the incumbent, Annie Wanjiku Kibeh had an upper hand because she was aligned to the President’s party Jubilee and just a week ago she had hosted the president in inaugurating the newly constructed Karemenu Dam.

The other closest competitor Kigo Njenga, a former MP was hopeful to clinch the seat on an United Democratic Alliance UDA Party ticket.

“I’m humbled for this honor the people of Gatundu North have bestowed upon me,” the humble, down-to-earth philanthropic legislator noted

Elijah Njoroge Kururia, an independent candidate won Gatundu North parliamentary race after garnering 15, 224 votes against Jubilee Party candidate Anne Wanjiku Kibe’s 12, 232 votes. UDA candidate Francis Kigo Njenga has emerged third after garnering 11, 716 votes.
