Youthful MP Promises to Deliver
By John Kariuki
One of the most youthful Members of Parliament hails from Manyatta Constituency in Embu County.
Humble down-to-earth philanthropic and personable. That’s Gitonga Mukunji. He overwhelmingly won the seat with 58,408 votes against his distant competitor Morris Nyaga who only managed 6625.
The Times Digital independently sought an interview with The MP Elect Honorable Gitonga Mukunji.
“I’m equal to the task and my first assignment is to set up a resource center in Manyatta so as to have a database of the talents and manpower we have. The resource centre will also keep a database of all the unemployed youths and their profession so that the MP can look for jobs. This will go a long way in informing policy so as to uplift the youths through talent nurturing, internships and indeed linking them up with the job market.
Mr. Gitonga who is just 35, thanked Manyatta people for having faith in his leadership.
“I’m very humbled by this gesture that Manyatta people have bestowed upon me. I promise to deliver and to work even with other leaders for the betterment of Manyatta Constituency.”
Mr Gitonga won the tightly contested seat on an United Democratic Alliance UDA Party ticket which also delivered the Governorship in Embu and eventually the Hustler 001 His Excellency Dr. William Samoei Ruto, the president elect.
