I have started receiving Mombasa county daily reports from heads of department before my inauguration ceremony next week.
Mombasa governor elect Abdulswamad Nassir said his receiving of the daily reports for the county before the inauguration is in line with the constitution refuting claims what he was doing was unconstitutional.
“I am waiting to officially take over after the inauguration ceremony for me to settle down to business,” he pointed out.
He was answering questions from journalists after paying a surprise visit to both Star of The Sea primary and Secondary schools in Mvita constituency, Mombasa county.
The Mombasa governor elect said his first priority will be to fulfill his election pledges according to his election manifesto.
Abdulswamad insisted he will ensure the county residents are economically empowered.
He disclosed apart from the economic empowerment he will ensue the revival of the economy which he said is already in an intensive care unit.
“I will be meeting with the business community to come up with ways and means of reviving the county’s economy,” he pointed out.
The outgoing Mvita MP apologized to the school for being unable to visit when he was serving as their MP.
Abdulswamad told journalists at least he has managed to do so after his elevation as governor.
He said he had initiated a water purification system at the school which he was unable to launch.
“The school management should enhance cohesion among faithful in all religions as the school’s foundation is religious,” he added.
The Mombasa governor elect urged the school management to accommodate diverse opinions after the just concluded Mombasa gubernatorial election.
