Kenya Extends Generosity to Pakistan
By John Kariuki
The cordial bilateral relations between Kenya and Pakistan have continued to gain momentum to the benefit of both countries.
Pakistan is the largest importer of KTDA teas, accounting for 36% of tea exports.
However, the country has been left in a deplorable state by the recent floods that engulfed the Pakistan Nation in a scale that has not been witnessed in the recent past.
The severe floods have devastated a third of the country in 72 counties for the last 3 months since June, 2022.
In a kind gesture and by far a Good Samaritan act, the Chairperson of Kenya Tea Development Authority David Muni Ichoho extended a hand of Generosity to assist Pakistan.
This follows a courtesy visit by a delegation from the Islamic Republic of Pakistan led by Deputy High Commissioner Mr Junaid Waziri and Commercial Counsellor LD Khan on who visited Kagwe Tea Factory on a benchmarking mission to help them understand the varieties of tea processed at Kagwe and how they are processed.
