Mombasa Golf Club Member Wins in Mid Week Tournament

Monica Kamundi won the Mombasa Golf Club Nite tournament after posting 23 points.
Kamudi won in the mid week tournament which attracted 33 golfers while playing under 42 handicap from 3 balls.
The Tuesday Club Nite tournament was in commemoration of the launch of the club’s irrigation project with past club chairman, Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Wafula Chebukati, taking part.
The runners up award went to Fidelis Odumo after posting 17 points playing under 29 handicap from 2 balls.
Joel Ndege won the third award after posting 16 points on count back from 2 balls playing under 24 handicap.
Veteran golfer Carol Munyi posted 41 points to win 18 holes from 3 balls playing under 30 handicap.
Mburu Mwangi won the runners up title after positing 37 points from 2 balls playing under 16 handicap.
Third award on 18 holes was won by Peter Wango after positing 35 points playing under 28 handicap.
Speaking at the brief ceremony the club chairman Ken Mwangi said the project was over due for decades with the club’s dream now coming true.
He pointed out the implementation of the project came to reality during the COVID 19 pandemic with well wishers coming to give assistance.
“The project will enter its phase two under sanitation system at the golf course and it is expected to end next year,” he pointed out.
The club in charge of the project who is also vice chairman Paul Munyao said the cost of the project is in the region of Sh 10 to Sh 20 billion.
