Kenya Airways (KQ) joined the world to celebrate the annual Customer Service Week under the theme, “Celebrating Service”. The airline had several activities across the stations and business units to celebrate their staff and customers.
Chief Commercial and Customer Officer, Julius Thairu, officially kicked off the Customer Service Week at the company’s Customer Excellence Centre (CEC) in Nairobi. In the spirit of appreciating customers, the CCCO waived penalties on tickets for some customers.
Waiting passengers at different boarding gates within Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) were also treated to rare musical entertainment. Popular Kenyan music band, Kayamba Afrika was on hand to entertain guests as they waited to board or at various check-in points.
There were also lucky sales dips and raffle draws that passengers participated in and got discounted fares, cabin upgrades, and branded merchandise. Onboard passengers were also not left behind as surprises and delights were conducted in their honour such as renowned Kenyan industrialist Manu Chandaria.
KQ’s Customer Service Week activities were crowned by the Group MD and CEO, Allan Kilavuka, who went undercover at Kuehne & Nagel, a logistics company, and surprised the workers on duty with giveaways. He later boarded a Friday morning flight to Mombasa to help the passengers check in, and serve their meals.
