Only 49 Out of 76 Elite Golfers Proceed to Third and Fourth Round

Kenya Amateur Stroke Play Championship golf defending Champ Adel Balala of Nyali Golf & Country Club is among 49 golfers who made it to the third and fourth rounds of the 45th edition of the  championship.

The championship which is being held for the first time at the Baobab course at par 72 tee off at the famous Vipingo Ridge in Kilifi county.

The final of the championship will be played on Sunday at the same venue and the grand finale will be graced by the Kilifi county governor Gideon Mung’aro. The  winner of the tournament will get automatic entry into the 2023 Magical Kenya Open.

National team captain Dennis Maara is among the 49 who will proceed to the third and fourth rounds of the championship which comes to closure on the weekend.

During an interview on the second day of the tournament Adel said he had a bad day on the first day but he managed to make a come back into the championship.

He told journalist he managed to capitalize on the second day of the championship to come back on track.

“I am happy to have had a good and strong finishing on the second day and improved to last round,” he pointed out.

The defending champ said despite having played at the course before it still proved to be very tough.        

Balala pointed out the pins position and strong wind proved to be a big  challenge saying this affected their performance.
