MCA wants City Hall to take street children to school
Nominated MCA Malyun Ali Abdi ( Abdi) has called on City Hall to develop a program that will see street children with potential taken to school.
The MCA says that the number of street children in the capital has escalated in recent years yet no serious program targeting them has been put in place.
She wants street families treated as part vulnerable groups in society and accorded necessary support.
In a motion moved in the assembly on Wednesday afternoon,the legislator has proposed a street to school campaign program aimed at eliminating children from the streets and eventually taken to school in a structured guideline.
” Most children lack basic needs including education despite government intervention towards education system”
She also wants the county to build rescue centers for learning through a public-private partnership with non state agencies and equip it with necessary personel.
