Public Servants are Demoralized Aisha Jumwa Now Says

The Public Service ministry is faced with numerous challenges which have led to the demoralization of employees.
Cabinet Secretary Aisha Jumwa said as she took over the docket under the Kenya Kwanza administration she has made an effort to listen and to get views and the condition is worrying.
“I wish to promise them that I will do the best to bring their working morale back as public savants,” she pointed out.
Aisha assured civil servants that their remuneration and monthly salaries will be looked at.
She was addressing the media after a closed door meeting during a Huduma Kenya secretariat induction program held at the Kenya School of Government in Mvita constituency, Mombasa County.
The CS stated that apart from remuneration and their monthly salaries she will look into other packages and benefits which go hand in hand.
Aisha, who was flanked by Public Service principal secretary in charge gender and affirmative action Mary Kimonye, told journalists her work is to facilitate the process to ensure civil workers get back the working morale and back on their feet.
She added that she is at the moment on a familiarization tour of her ministries and departments countrywide.
“This is my first visit outside the capital city after I was was sworn in to officiate over an induction programme for 41 newly employed Huduma staff,” she pointed out.
The CS reiterated she will ensure all civil savants work under a conducive environment to boost their working morale.
