Mombasa: Biometric data system for county employees to be ready by January

Mombasa County government biometric data program is expected to be completed mid January next month.
Mombasa governor Abdulswamad Nassir said the data system is aimed at flashing out ghost workers.
He insisted it is a proactive program to enable employees to know each other at the county government, which is mandatory.
‘It is not an option but mandatory for those working at the county government to know each other through the program,’ he pointed out.
Abdulswamad said he is optimistic that at the end of the exercise it will reveal detailed information of the county workers.
He was speaking during the launch of Mombasa ni yangu program famously known as county casual workers at the Treasury Square garden in Mvita constituency, Mombasa County.
The governor cautioned he won’t be compromised on the program to favor anyone.
Abdulswamad said he is happy to note that all elected leaders are reading from the same script.
He added he is proud to have a county where elected leaders are united and share one podium for the purpose of development.
‘I am proud to have a county where elected leaders are united irrespective of political affiliations,’ he pointed out.
The governor reiterated the common goal of the elected leaders is to serve the electorate and fulfill their August general election campaign pledges.
‘Abdulswamad added that similar unity of purpose is within the county assembly members where they expedite the processes.
‘The first phase of Mombasa ni yangu program famously known as county casual workers has now been launched,’ he said.
