AFC Leopards beat Bandari 2-0 to break the jinx

Bandari Football Club lost 2-0 to AFC Leopards in a premier league match played at KPA Mbaraki sports club in Mombasa county.
The visiting team was able to break the jinx of not beating the home team since 2017 which head coach Patrick Aussems downplayed during an interview.
The former champs scored their opening goal through Nigeria import Ojo Olaniyi in the 82nd minute after capitalizing on a defense blunder leaving home team custodian Okoth Ochuka to beat.
In the 90th minute, AFC were awarded a penalty with team captain Cliff Nyakeya forcing port city custodian Okoth Ochuka to dive the wrong way of the post.
Both teams missed several chances in the league match which the spectators thought would end in a barren draw.
Ingwe custodian Levis Opiyo was the man of the match after denying the state corporation a win during the well-attended match.
Several times he was called to save his team from the host team striker to take a lead.
There was tight security when AFC jetted into the coastal city at Mombasa’s Moi international airport four hours to kick off.
During the first half, the score was 0-0 with the home team being the first to make three substitutions at once.
AFC players were up in arms against the center referee when the Nigeria import was put down in the box demanding a penalty.
Sukuti was danced on the entire terrace pouring cold water on Bandari fans.
