Naomi Waqo Urges Government to Up its Efforts in Curbing Insecurity
Marsabit Woman Representative the Honorable Naomi Waqo has implored upon the government to be more keen in tackling the issue of rampant insecurity especially in pastoralist areas.
Naomi said: “I’d like to firstly thank the Government for showing commitment to curb insecurity. It’s taken the right step in curbing insecurity.
The government should look for these people and bring them to book. They are human beings like us so we must trace where they are. The problem with us is that we are so tribal. So there’s what we call ethnic competition.
Our government must make sure we get hold of these people and we disarm them and make sure they face the law.
And the funny thing is that we don’t have money to send our children to school, we are pleading with our government to give relief food and bursaries to send our children to school but we can afford a gun.
We should know how to get rid of this problem and coexist.
