Lawyers dominate golf tournament over the weekend

A lawyer became the overall winner of the Mombasa golf Captain tournament 2022 after posting 26 points.
Victor Simbi playing off 17 handicap won the title after beating over 150 golfers during the two-day event.
Simbi was awarded a quarter of an acre plot in Kilifi county during the prize-giving ceremony held at the course in Mvita constituency.
The colorful ceremony saw the runners-up award go to high court lawyer George Gachana who was awarded a prime plot in Kwale county.
Playing off 34 handicap he managed to score 34 points on countback.
George Thama won the third prize after he scored 34 points on countback with the fourth award going to Tola Amani after posting 34 points.
The club golfer Zaituni Mohamed won the ladies’ award with 35 points on countback playing off 29 handicap.
Josy Masai won the ladies’ runners-up award with 35 points with the best senior award going to Mwai Mariga with 27 points.
The overall best cross award went to former Nyali country and golf club captain Gurbux Singh after posting 152 points.
The best Friday award went to youthful golfer William Kaguta after posting 78 points.
The best junior award was won by Mwai Mariga after posting 27 points with the best guest award going to Charles Murimi with 45 points.
Ladies Longest Drive Saturday was won by Qays Mungai with the best past captain award going to Sammy Kamau with 44 points.
