Bureaucracy and negative politics in the country had delayed the launch of the Sh16 billion importation of liquefied petroleum gas plant.
President William Ruto said he regretted the delay of the investment during his predecessor’s regime.
He pointed out that he knows what the investor has gone through to reach to the current stage of the project.
“We congratulate the investor Taifa Gas Group chairman Rostam Aziz for not giving up in his quest,” he pointed out.
Ruto said he is aware that Aziz is a resilient investor and the struggle he went through to get to this stage.
He was speaking during the ground breaking of Taifa Gas Kenya facility at the Dongo Kundu Special Economic Zone facility in Likoni constituency, Mombasa county.
The Head of State applauded the investor for his persistence to ensure the success of the facility in the country.
Ruto assured him the government will work with him to success of the investment saying it is the right one at the right place.
He said the facility will strengthen bilateral relations between the Republic of Tanzania and Kenya.
“The investment in the county is similar to what other local investors are doing,” he pointed out.
The Head of State said he is ready to work with elected leaders to shape the future destiny of the country.
Ruto reiterated he will work with elected leaders irrespective of their political affiliations.
He reminded elected leaders they have an an obligation and duty to fulfill to their campaign pledges to the electorate.
“No leader is elected by bad luck or through mistaken identity but by the grace of the Almighty God,” he added.
Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua vowed that the Ruto administration won’t be shaken by anti-government crusaders.
He said the anti-government crusaders won’t bring change or any value to the table.
“We won’t appoint government critics to key positions as they will sabotage the government,” he pointed out.
The DP scoffed at Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga over his double speak saying he does not recognize Ruto as the Head of State while at the same time he accuses him for lack of regional balance in his government appointments.
He said for past 20 years Raila has been on the streets demonstrating against the governments of the day.
“Raila was relieved of his duties as AU envoy and Representative for Infrastructure Development for absconding duty,” he pointed out.
