The government has waded into the raging controversial lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender [LGBT] debate.

President William Ruto, for  the first time, has differed with the Supreme Court judges’ stand on the issue of homosexuality.

He said he has distanced himself from the court’s judgment on same sex marriages.

“I fear the Almighty God and I have vowed to distance myself from the court’s stand,” he pointed out.

Ruto pointed out that the court’s judgment was immoral and against religious and their cultural practices.

He was speaking during this year’s women’s international day celebrations held at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre [KICC ] in Nairobi county.

The Head of State said the government won’t entertain such court judgments to take place during his administration.

Ruto reminded the forum to abide by the religious teaching and cultural practices in the country which are against homosexuality.

He has vowed to ensure that the LGBT practices won’t be allowed under his administration.

“Despite having a lot of respect for the judiciary the judgment is against our religious and traditional and cultural practices and I will not accept it,” he pointed out.

The Head of State said the country is governed by the constitution and the rule of the law and cautioned he will not entertain immoral activities in the county.

Ruto said his administration won’t take the negative route of the judgment by the judiciary.
