Kerich Kicked out of Committee on Delegated Legislation
Nairobi City County Assembly Committee on Delegated Legislation has declined to meet the County Executive Committee for Finance and Economic Planning Charles Kerich.
This comes after the CEC appeared at the committee almost an hour late for a summon that he was to appear before them.
Speaking to the media after the declaration, the Committee Chair Nasra Nanda said they could not proceed with the committee meeting following an alleged coming inditement motion that is to be tabled on Thursday, March, 9,2023.
“We as a committee cannot proceed with the meeting as planned because the CEC came very late and there is an indictment motion coming in the afternoon in great assembly which we respect very much,” she stated
“He had confirmed his attendance to the committee by yesterday evening but did not honor it by noon as we had agreed,” she added.
The committee was to the CEC and his team concerning funds in terms of legislation.
On Wednesday, Nairobi MCAs have gave the finance executive Charles Kerich six hours to avail funds to the assembly or face impeachment.

The legislators led by their house leadership on Wednesday claimed that the finance boss was withholding funds from the assembly which they claim has had a major impact on operations.
They accused him of sabotaging the legislative process by approving the funds for the operation of the Assembly.
Kerich told the Star that there is a work plan in place between the executive and assembly on how funds are released.
“The executive and the assembly agreed to work with a monthly cash flow plan based on revenue projects. The executive releases funds as per work plan and as per availability of funds,” he said.
Kerich said the executive has disbursed funds upon several requests from the Nairobi City County Assembly and still has some pending transfers.
The finance boss, however, urged the MCAs to be patient as the executive worked as per the work plan.
