By Mourice Seretta
A section of Ukambani political leaders on Saturday said that they will not be part and parcel of Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance planned protests scheduled for Monday 20th March 2023.
Led by former Wiper Party Leader Chairperson David Musila, Former Members of Parliament Joe Mutambu and Kisoi Munyao, they stated that they will not allow Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka who has been traversing the country with Azimio Leader Raila Odinga, to mislead the Kamba Nation into the Monday protests.
‘The Kamba Nation has been in the opposition for several decades under the leadership of Kalonzo Musyoka. We are stating that we do not want again our people to be out of government for the next five or ten years. We have so many pressing matters that we want the government to help us deal with as a people. That can not be delt with if we go out protesting and abusing the government that is in power,’ Musila said.
He warned that it will be treasonable if any person will try to access State House, that is the seat of power in the country, adding that it will be dangerous for the Azimio brigade to lead masses to State House in their bid to have their plkeas heard.
‘I have been a top adminstrator in the past. I know what the government will do if you try to move to that protected area (State House). Even in developed Countries like the U S that is unheard of.’ Musila reasoned.
His remarkes were echoed by Mutambu who asked that if Azimio’s Monday protests were to be taken seriously, then they will have to compel Winnie Odinga, Kennedy Musyoka and all Azimio leadrs’ kids to joi the common mwananchi in the protests.
‘If you want an hungry protestor from Kibera, Mathare to come, ask your kids to also join them,’Mutambu said.
Thay asked the Kamba Nation to focus on developing their backyard instead of protesting.
