Ten Mombasa County Executive Committee Members sworn in
Newly appointed County Executive Committee [CECs] members have been challenged to ensure their goal is to deliver service to the electorate.
Mombasa governor Abdulswamad Nassir said he has a duty to prove to the electorate he was their best choice during last year’s general elections.
He urged the newly appointed CECs not to let him down by proving a point to the electorate they had made a wise choice to elect him second governor of the county during last year’s polls.
“Don’t let them regret the vote they had cast went to waste,” he said.
Nassir told the CECs that they have a duty to ensure those who never cast their votes in his favour have second thoughts at the end of his first tenure.

He was speaking during the swearing in of the new CECs under his régime at his office conference room in Mvita constituency, Mombasa county.
The governor told the CECs they have a duty to change the mindset of those who had opposed his candidacy.
Nassir emphasized there is need for them to work in line with his campaign manifesto during their delivery of service.
He added they must roll up their sleeves to ensure they abide by his campaign pledges and manifesto.
“I have confidence that you are up to the task after undergoing rigorous vetting before the county assembly members urged you not to let them down,” he said.
The county boss acknowledged there is urgent need for the workers to get their remuneration package.
Nassir said apart from the increment in remuneration he has plans to have an incentive package for the workers in essential services in the field.
