Ruto told to stop treating Raila as his personal political rival
Elder brother to Azimio leader Raila Odinga has urged President William Ruto to stop treating his younger brother as his personal political rival.
He said the Head of State’s attitude towards Raila is an issue of great concern to the family and which raises more questions than answers.
Oburu Odinga who is Siaya Senator said the family is disturbed by threats against Raila from President William Ruto.
He said the family is perturbed by the Head of State’s utterances and threats against his younger brother.
“The high cost of living is not between him and Raila but it is a national issue and concerns every citizen,” he pointed out.
Oburu lashed out at the Head of State’s threats against Raila for heading mass action.

He was addressing the media at Moi international airport in Mombasa county.
The elder brother to Raila urged the Head of State to organize protests to counter those by Raila.
Oburu told the media his brother was is within his constitutional rights to demonstrate as he fought for those rights.
He said it was wrong to personalize the mass action and protests as Raila’s personal initiative.
“The demonstration is a collective effort done by Kenyans from all walks of life against the sky-rocketing cost of commodities,” he pointed out.
The Siaya Senator told the media Raila required protection by the police officers like any other citizen during the demonstration instead of being brutally attacked.
Oburu defended Raila saying he is a taxpayer who needed protection like other ordinary members of the public.
He blasted the government for lobbing teargas canisters at unarmed citizens who were protesting peacefully.
“It’s wrong for the government to use teargas against innocent taxpayers who were peaceful,” he added.
