Cleric Calls For Religious Bodies To Self Regulate
The Religious Bodies should be given a clear space to self regulate in a bid to weed out the bad elements who are tarnishing their good name.
Bishop David Thagana is the General secretary of the Federation of Evangelical and indigenous churches of Kenya and he says,
“We are the wearer of the shoe and we know where it pinches us. Let us be given the mandate to self regulate ourselves. Moreover, we are all under different umbrella bodies which assess and evaluate our activities. At the moment as Kenyans we like being reactive to the emerging issues instead of being proactive in order to prevent them from happening.” He observed
Bishop Thagana’s sentiments come in the wake of a dilemma over numerous bodies being exhumed of people who were lures into a cult in Malindi where they were forced to fast to death.
