Bungoma DG condemns mass killings want State action
Bungoma Deputy Governor Janepher Mbatiany has vehemently condemned the Shakahola Church killings, calling on security apparatus to speed up investigations and ensure culprits face the full force of the law.
Speaking at ACK St. Christina Cathedral, Bungoma during a fundraising drive towards Mothers Union hearse project, Mbatiany expressed her disappointment on the mushrooming cultic denominations in the country.
” I am saddened by the recent killings of over 100 worshippers in Shakahola, Kilifi County and strongly condemn this heinous act; occultism should never be tolerated, not in this country nor in the world”, she emphasized.
The principal who’s also a Bishop called out rogue preachers mutilating the Christian doctrine warning that their days are numbered.
“We will not fold our hands to any religious impunity, instead we shall root out all rogue pastors and instill order in the Christian ministry,” she warned.
She further implored the government to take action against those infringing on the constitutional freedom of worship and ungodly church activities.
“The government should tighten its belt more so on the freedom of worship since no one is at liberty of breaking the law; not all preachers are bad, we should be able to separate grain from chaff”, she categorically stated.
She handed over a contribution of 500,000 on behalf of Governor Kenneth Lusaka and encouraged the church to continue praying for the current administration.
