JP faction forced to change venue of Monday meeting to Ngong  Racecourse

Jubilee Party [JP] faction allied to former president Uhuru Kenyatta’s camp has settled for Ngong Racecourse as the venue for Monday’s special national delegates conference (NDC).  

Party leader Uhuru Kenyatta, through an advertisement in a local daily newspaper, announced the change of venue.

He pointed out that the venue for the party’s NDC has been moved from Bomas of Kenya to Ngong Racecourse.

The move to change the venue has been forced by the management of the famous Bomas of Kenya declining to allow the  controversial meeting to take place there.

The meeting is expected to target party rebels led by East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) Member of Parliament (MP) Kanini Kega and nominated MP Sabina Wanjiru Chege.

The party delegates drawn from the coast region assured their colleagues there is no cause for alarm over the venue to host the JP faction allied to former president Uhuru Kenyatta’s camp for Monday’s special NDC convened by the party leader.

Party activist Yassir Noor said they have three alternative venues apart from the initial famous Bomas of Kenya in the captial city of Nairobi.

He insisted as far as they are concerned the party NDC will take place as scheduled adding that the alternative venue will be communicated prior to delegates’ arrival in the city for the much awaited forum.     

“We are  drumming up support for the party NDC convened by party leader who is the retired Head of State,” he pointed out.

He was addressing the media at the end of a two-day regional consultative meeting held at Tudor Water Sports in Mvita constituency, Mombasa county.

The JP activist  reiterated they have resolved to attend the special National delegates conference convened by the party leader as planned.

JP Mombasa chapter women leader Amina Ridhwan told off nominated MP Sabina Wanjiru Chege saying she should be the last person to criticize the former Head of State.

She added it is the party leader who made her what she is in the current political dispensation.

“We invite you to come to the NDC to air your grievances instead of talking outside the party’s fence,” she said.   

A loser in Kilifi South constituency parliamentary race Khalil Bockle has challenged the embattled party national chairman Nelson Dzuiya to come out clearly to state which faction he is allied to.  

He accused him of double speak and blamed him for the woes within the party leading to the emergence of factions.

“Dzuya contributed to failure by the party to win elective positions during last year’s polls,” he pointed out .
