AIDs Still Remains a Defining Pandemic in The Country
A platform to discuss progress made on HIV/Aids responses and its future got underway at the port city in Mombasa county.
National Syndemic Diseases Control Council [NSDCC] Chief Executive Officer [CEO] Ruth Masha confirmed the forum will be under Maisha conference to bring together the scientific community and policy makers on board.
She said this year’s forum will be marking the 7th Maisha conference anniversary since its inception.
“Despite the country having been faced with the pandemic in the past Aids prevalence still remains a defining factor at the moment,” she disclosed.
Ruth said the pandemic response remains a factor with many solutions having been encountered currently.
She was addressing the media ahead of the 7th Maisha conference at Pride Hotel and Convention Centre in Mombasa County.
The NSDCC CEO said HIV remained a factor also during the COVID 19 pandemic.
Ruth was by flanked by Founder and CEO Women Fighting AIDS in Kenya (WOFAK) Dorothy Onyango and Kenyan pediatrician and epidemiologist who also teaches at the University of Nairobi College of Health Sciences Prof Ruth Nduati.
