Pacis Insurance, the leading faith-based underwriter in Kenya has announced that it has entered into a unique partnership with Global Leadership Summit (GLS) Kenya for the 2- day leadership development program for at least 7,500 delegates set to take place from November 2nd to 3rd in Nairobi, Kenya.

In the historical relationship, Pacis Insurance will be the first ever Official Event and Travel Insurance Partner in the Global Leadership Summit’s 12- year history.

Speaking during the Partnership Agreement signing ceremony, Pacis Insurance Managing Director Ms. Jean Moegi said that the firm was elated to be associated with the premier leadership development forum organized by International Christian Ministries (ICM) on behalf of the Global Leadership Network (GLN). This year’s theme is “Lead Where You Are”, for the forum that is expected to bring together internationally renowned experts including former U.S. Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice.

With an anticipated physical attendance of more than 7,500 delegates, local is faculty at this year’s Global Leadership Summit include Bishop Dr. David Oginde – Chairman of the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), Bishop Calisto Odede – Presiding Bishop at Christ Is The Answer Ministries (CITAM), Dennis Njau – Director of Payments and Retail Banking at Equity Bank Limited and Margaret Sirima – Principal, Cicely McDonell College of Health Sciences at The Nairobi Hospital, amongst others.

“We need to develop the kind of leadership our country needs to contribute to effective transformation. Some of the factors contributing to our leadership challenges include lack of a practical understanding of effective leadership, our colonial history, inappropriate post -spirituality, poor ethical role-modelling in African communities, and poor awareness of the need for effective leadership development,” said Ms. Moegi.

Adding that the flourishing of the strong moral and socio-political qualities necessary for solid transformational leadership equally demands an intentional work, she pointed out that transformational leaders are those who generally observe principles of human dignity and worth, human rights, good social values, and individual and socio-political transformation.

“We know that there is a strong impact of good leadership on an organization’s financial health, and this is driving the rising demand for leadership training in both the private and public sectors,” noted Moegi.

It is expected that leadership development programs will keep growing in importance as more executive officers (CEOs) of top corporates prepare plans to increase investments in leadership development because they see it as the most important human-capital investment and a powerful predictor of an organization’s ability to outperform its competitors.

Since 2011 when the program started in Kenya, the Global Leadership Summit has reached over 115,000 leaders and is attended by everyone who desires to grow their leadership and influence including management teams and board members, religious and government leaders, lawmakers, business, community as well as the youth.”
