Prof. Kisilu Kitainge Takes Over the Reign at TVET CDACC

TVET CDACC is geared towards a brighter future after the welcoming of the new chief executive.

Speaking during the handover ceremony today, Dr. Esther Muoria, Principal Secretary, State Department for Technical, Vocational Education and Training in the Ministry of Education said this moment symbolises growth, progress and continuous pursuit of excellence.

She emphasized that TVET CDACC plays a very key role not only in the TVET sector but also in ensuring that the Government realizes its industrialization agenda in Kenya and TVET is central in this agenda.

Additionally, she challenged Kaitange he has a big responsibility ahead of him as there is need to capacity build TVET CDACC so that it can fully achieve the big mandate ahead of it.

“The most important resource that Kenya has is its youths are there is a dire need to ensure that these youths are fully skilled and TVET CDACC plays a very key role in this. I therefore urge the incoming CEO to ensure that we fully skill our youths,” she noted.

The PS also urged the CEO to ensure that a strong and elaborate system of assessment and monitoring in place. She added that “Let us also benchmark from other bodies within our mandate and borrow the best so that we can put it in practice for the success of the TVET sector in Kenya. Let us also ensure that there is continuous development and review of curriculum and automation of processes, taking advantage of ICT.”

Furthermore, Muoria acknowledged and appreciated the outgoing CEO, Mr. Joseph Njau on his significant contributions to the institution.

“Under his visionary leadership, TVET CDACC has achieved remarkable milestones, fostered partnerships, and implemented innovative initiatives that have transformed the landscape of technical education in our country.
We owe a debt of gratitude to Mr. Njau for his tireless dedication, expertise, and unwavering commitment to the betterment of TVET CDACC,” she averred.

She finally urged the Council members to support the chief executive as they embrace change and new ideas.

On his remarks, Prof. Kisilu Kitainge, the new chief executive TVET CDACC thanked the ministry for their trust in him in taking over the mantle and transform the skills sector industry.

“I will bank on my wealth of knowledge and experience in the field of technical and vocational education as the country looks on the industrialization sector to drive growth and the economy,” he said.

Kitainge noted that collaboration remains at the core of our endeavors and encouraged partnerships with industry stakeholders, educational institutions, and international organizations to enrich our programs, facilitate knowledge transfer, and enhance the employability of our graduates.
