Kenya Ports Authority Numerous Corruption Cases Unmasked as Tenders, Contracts Manipulated for Bribes

Kenya Ports Authority officials are minting millions of money from suppliers and contractors for issuance of contracts despite President William Ruto’s command that no state agency should be involved in corruption.

Details at our desk can reveal how the principal Security Investigations officer James Kyalo instigated and successfully looted taxpayer’s money through shoddy dealings.

The officer unlawfully bagged millions of shillings in the Bio-annual contract Electrical tender where every willing bibber had to part with Sh 1.5 million.

James is believed to have walked home with over Sh50 million with insider sources indicating that he has made it a norm to extort and make millions from unsuspecting

It can be proved that Kyalo was the police officer who was involved in the notorious case of massive oil siphoning and ridiculous corruption cases at KPA.

The officer is now at the centre of a Sh 5 million scandal paid to an unqualified company dealing with cleaning services.

Investigative authorities are now after the dealings of the company and operations of the officer.

A senior source privy to the ongoing investigations revealed that Kyalo and among other officers are on police radar and soon full-force -of-the-law shall be applied.

“We have the files and witnesses are ready. We must stop looting at government agencies.” He said

The source added that it is so shocking seeing such a senior officer from investigations desk being the chairman in the evaluation committee.

“It is perturbing seeing such an ‘eye opener’ in the tendering process. That is a conflict of interest and we won’t allow that as an agency.” He added

Our investigations revealed that Kyalo was at the centre of the fallout between the KPA Managing Director Captain William Ruto and a section of the Board of Directors.

This was catapulted by the multi-million tenders that were published by the state agency.

It emerged that conflicting interests from the board members and those of unknown senior government officials who contributed to their appointment were deeply involved.

The board members are Njoki Maina, Musa Osman, Emmanuel Kibet, Consolata Lusweti and Lucas Maitha.

The MD was blamed by some of the board members for serving personal interest in conjunction with cartels in the industry.

Some of the most recently advertised tenders which are believed to have been exaggerated in terms of cost include Provision of Electrical Works, Supply, Installation and Commissioning of Intelligent Structured Cabling, Customer Relationship Management System, Provision of Rehabilitation Facilities and Services, Provision of Outpatient and Inpatient Services to staff among others.
