Businesspersons in Bungoma County have every reason to smile as the government inches closer to rolling out trade loans.
While addressing small-scale traders during an empowerment function at Kamukuywa Stage, Bungoma Deputy Governor Janepher Mbatiany revealed that the loans will soon be issued to cushion traders in this soaring economy.
“We are in the final phase, and as stated by Governor Lusaka, he will be rolling out the trade loans in February, and among the beneficiaries are small-scale traders,” divulged Mbatiany.
The businesspersons were drawn from various towns across the county, including Kamukuywa, Misikhu, Chwele, Bungoma, Webuye, and Sirisia.
She also highlighted that the streetlights installed in the area are part of the administration’s effort to provide a conducive business environment for traders and urged them to be vigilant and report any vandalism at the lights.
She then presented Governor Lusaka’s personal contribution of Ksh. 100,000 towards the course.
