Escalators FC Clinch Munga Super Cup in Kawangware

Escalators FC from Gatina Estate are the new Munga Super Cup champions. They beat FIFA Best from Kawangware 4-3 on post match penalties in a thrilling final clash that ended on a barren draw at the Muslim primary school ground in Kawangware.

The final clash watched by a mammoth crowd, attracted five teams where the winner pocketed Sh. 70,000.Runners up FIFA Best received sh. 50,000 while Kabiru Youth and Muslim Best finished third and fourth with a token of Ksh. 30,000 and 20,000.Fifth placed DN Hot spot were handed a consolation prize of Sh10,000 respectively.

Each team was given full set of Uniforms and two playing balls courtesy of the tournaments sponsor Hon. Clarence Munga who is the area Member of the County Assembly(MCA).

During the dreaded spot kicks, Escalators scored their spot kicks through Brian Machisu, Issa Ocharo, Collins Idapa and Juma Rocky while Likhono Gerrison squandered his spot kick.

Scorers for FIFA Best were International star Musa Masika, Victor Okulo, and Adrian Tarik. Francis Githu and Wellington Ochieng wasted their chances.

Addressing the gathering, Munga lauded the teams for displaying high standard of football. He urged the players to demonstrate discipline, respect and avoid drugs.

In attendance were area leaders led by Chief Madam Zipora Muguku, Kileleshwa, MCA Robert Alai, Madam Olive Ndungu, Mwalimu Swaka from Gatina, Hon. Njogu from Kawangware and officials from the Nairobi liquor & Licensing board among other sports Administrators.
