Iron nail and Mabati Manufacturing factory to be set up in Kajiado
Investors from the United Kingdom are finalising plans to set up a Multi-million iron nail and Mabati Manufacturing industry in Kajiado’s Kipetu area.
The investment seeks to tap into the ongoing affordable housing program that has created immense demand for building materials among them iron nails.
The investors have made site visits and are working on plans to kickstart the construction.
Once done, the factory is expected to employ over 400 youths both directly and indirectly.
The factory will add to the country’s value chain in the construction sector and could spark other infrastructure development in areas around Kipetu that neighbours the capital city- Nairobi.
According to Johnston Oduk a consultant for the investor company, both the national government and county government of Kajiado are aware of the new investment plan.
The investors also have plans to widen their interest in the steel and Iron manufacturing industry beyond Kenya to the rest of the East African region.
The construction is expected to kick of before the end of this year
