– Businessman says he lives in fear after mysterious vehicle with Government registration went to his home.
Police in Machakos county are probing an incident where four men and an estranged wife of a Nairobi businessman went to his Kyumbi village home in a car bearing government registration numbers for unknown reasons.
The businessman (name withheld) says he has divorced his former wife, a senior officer in the Nairobi City County Government and now fears for his life following the incident but has reported the matters at Kyumbi Police Station.
The incident reportedly happened on Tuesday 20th February, 2024 at 3:00 pm, when a motor vehicle registration GKB 362W, Isuzu D-MAX double cabin, drove to his home in Manzooni area.
The vehicle was driven by a male driver while the other four occupants included his ex-wife (name withheld), said to be a deputy director in the county government, her brother (name withheld) and two other men, said the businessman.
He explained that the people first drove Maanzoni Lodge where they left their car, a Toyota Alphard registration (registration numbers withheld), before they proceeded to his home located in the neighborhood in the GK vehicle.
“Their motive and intension remain unknown to me. However, it appears my former wife and the brother (name withheld) were showing their three companions my home with intension of commiting a felony or possible assassination after I secured a divorce against her” the businessman asserted.
He added: “I strongly believe the five were here on surveillance for a possible criminal mission after I divorced her. I now live in fear because they could come at night. I feel my life is in danger”, he told journalists at Kyumbi Police Station.
The man further pointed out that since his ex-wife was a senior officer in the county government, she was capable of manipulating things to her personal interest. He expressed fear that the woman could be out to harm him after he ended their 24 – year marriage.
“Due to the underlying factors, I have reported the matter at Kyumbi Police Station and I call upon the police to carry out thorough investigations to establish the motive.
The car reportedly pulled up at the gate and stopped for a while but occupants neither alighted nor sought to talk to anyone at the home.
It then drove ahead a short distance past the gate, made a U-turn and drove off back to Maanzoni Lodge where the occupants are said to have taken a late afternoon meal and left in the two cars towards Nairobi direction.
