Lobby Petition for Oust of NHIF Boss Elijah Wachira

Bunge La Mwananchi, a social justice movement has petitioned the National Health Insurance Fund CEO Elijah Wachira over alleged gross misconduct and corruption.
Speaking to journalists on Tuesday at the Milimani Law Courts, the activists alleged Mr Wachira disregarded court orders and violated article 10 of the constitution of Kenya.
“The ways the NHIF Boss is conducting business in his office is questionable. On 6th February 2024, Justice Mong’are gave orders stopping the matter between NHIF and Jomec Limited. The CEO ignored and went ahead to execute some orders,” Robert Kiberenge, a member of the group stated.
They called for immediate resignation and replacement as the fund transition to social health insurance fund (SHIF).
