Over 219 lives lost due to the floods havoc
Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has asked the government to declare the current floods havoc in the country a national disaster aimed at drawing collaboration and response from international partners.
He defended his call to the government saying local and international partners will come in response to the government’s declaration to help those affected by the floods.
“The families of those affected by the floods require support,” he said and singled out the tragedy in Sultan Hamud and Mai Mahiu adding that he suspects people are still buried under the dams.
Kalonzo said it is time they need to work together arguing that this will not happen unless the government declares the situation a national disaster.

Kalonzo warned the government Azimio leader Raila Amolo Odinga won’t be compromised by President William Ruto’s move to endorse Raila’s bid for the African Union (AU) chairmanship.
He said they will talk of Raila successor when he is elected arguing that there are still pending issues which required Raila’s input.
“To make the matters worse they are issues of national importance,” he pointed out.
