President Ruto trips have opened inroads for KPA market says Port boss
The overseas trips made by President William Ruto have been applauded for opening markets for the Kenya Ports Authority [KPA].
The authority Managing Director Captain William Ruto said the various trips made by the Head of State have borne fruits in terms of opening a market in the European countries for the country.
‘’There is need to market the country to the outside world in line with the government’s ambitions,” he said.
Captain Ruto said apart from the European countries the Head of State has also successfully opened markets in the other countries he has visited.
He spoke at Vertical Agro Limited Acacia farm in Naivasha township during a media briefing when he visited the facility while touring Nakuru county.
The KPA MD assured farmers that the authority is ready to support the sector in the country and that they will continue to listen to them.
Captain Ruto added they will ensure they continue to support those who resolve to successfully support the farmers.
He has assured farmers the authority will visit them and have an audience with them as they are ready to assist where necessary.
“Naivasha Inland Container Depot will be made a logistical hub aimed at reducing the cost of doing business,” he pointed out.
The KPA boss acknowledged they are in competition with South America saying the number does not lie.
Captain Ruto said the authority is in support of the government to go green which has resulted in investing in green energy.
He urged farmers to use railway transportation to reduce the cost of doing business to get more in terms of produce.
“During a closed-door meeting we have resolved to cut down on the cost,” he said.
