Deputy President to open secondary schools heads forum in Mombasa
Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua wil be chief guest during the 47th annual Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) cum Kenya Secondary Schools Heads Association (KESSHA) national conference to be held at Sheikh Zayed hall in Nyali constituency, Mombasa county.
The five-day event kicks off on Monday and will end on Friday with Gachagua expected to preside over the official opening of the conference of secondary school principals on Wednesday.
The theme of the conference is Future Pathways for Learning and Learners and the KESSHA National Chairman Willie Kuria will present his first annual event since he was elected.
According to a tentative programme shared with media houses the DP will be at the venue from noon flanked by Mombasa governor Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir.
KCB chief executive officer [CEO] Paul Russo and Teachers Service Commission (TSC) chairperson Dr. Jamleck Muturi John, National Treasury and Economic Planning Cabinet Secretary Prof. Njuguna Ndung’u are on the list of early speakers before the opening ceremony on reviewing the education sector and financing framework.
Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu is expected to perform the closing ceremony on the last day of the five-day even at the port city.
