Anti Finance demonstrators have been asked to embrace peace

Protesters against the unpopular finance bill 2024 throughout the country have been urged to embrace peace.
Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) deputy Secretary General Moses Nthurima said the county is at a defining moment with demonstrations against the bill taking place countrywide.
‘’The demonstrations which were held before the current generation were different,” he pointed out, alleging that the previous regimes printed money to stop the demonstrators.
He was speaking during the ongoing 47th annual Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB) cum Kenya Secondary Schools Heads Association (KESSHA) national delegates conference held at Sheikh Zayed hall in Nyali constituency, Mombasa county. Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua presided over the opening ceremony.
The KUPPET deputy secretary added the past regimes used printed money to stop university students from taking part during the protests against the government.
Nthurima told the almost 10,000 principals attending the five-day conference the government must acknowledge the movement is with us and urged those in power to listen to the protesters.
He asked the government to also respect the country’s constitution.
“The only way the Kenya Kwanza administration can succeed is to be on the fore front in the war against corruption,” he pointed out.
