Coach Ken Odhiambo makes come back to Bandari team
Bandari football club has re-appointed former club head coach Ken Odhiambo to head the club as new technical bench.
The unveiling ceremony was held at the club’s temporary training pitch at Mombasa Sports Club in Mombasa county.
The coastal premier league side Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Tony Kibwana graced the brief ceremony.
Odhiambo, who doubles up as Harambee Stars assistant coach forced the club management to reverse the pervious appointment of John Baraza as the club head coach back to his previous role as assistant coach.
The newly appointed club head coach will steer the 2024-25 season which gets underway this weekend.
Baraza who had been serving as the head coach of the club will now be redeployed as the assistant coach.
Kibwana defended Odhiambo’s appointment and coming back to the team saying it was after a thorough scrutiny and deliberations aimed at improving the team.
During the just concluded seasons the club, under Baraza’s stewardship, finished fourth at the end of the local Kenya Premier League standing table with 52 points with a difference of one point with FC Leopards.
Gor Mahia F C won the title with 73 points with Tusker F.C walking away with the runners-up title with 65 points while Kenya Police FC took the third place with 57 points.
