My Administration is out to Eradicate Graft – Ruto
President William Ruto said he is confident in bringing the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) on board in the formation of a broad-based cabinet.
He pointed out he has the task and duty to have an all-inclusive government during his tenure.
“My mission and major heavy task is to unify the country and thus bring every one on board,” he added.
Ruto said time has come for the political class to put their self interests aside and to work with him.
He was speaking during the distribution of fishing funds for empowerment to fisheries at Mkomani Showground in Nyali constituency, Mombasa county.
The Head of State defended his move of bringing ODM to the cabinet saying his tour in the port city is to stamp his authority in uniting the entire country.
President Ruto told the forum he is on a mission to unify the entire nation to be able to work together saying the recent move to nominate ODM members to the broad-based government aims at steering his course of unity.
He said his aim is to bring development projects under his administration.
“To create employment opportunities for the youths and expand business enterprises,” he clarified.
The Head of State said his aim is to turn around the country’s economy through agriculture and the fishing industry.
“I am optimistic that by nominating former Mombasa governor Hassan Ali Joho for the Mining, Blue Economy docket and the transfer of Joho’s predecessor Salim Mvurya to the Investments and Trade docket he will perform like his predecessor during his tenure,” he stated.
The Head of State has assured his political critics that he is out to fight the corruption vise in the county adding that is why he has granted an Act on the war against the vice where graft cases will take less than a year in courts before the verdict is determined.
