Wiper Democratic Movement party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has insisted he is the official opposition leader.
He argued Azimio leader Raila Odinga’s quest for the post of chairperson of the African Union Commission (AUC) to succeed incumbent Moussa Faki automatically qualifies him to take over the country’s opposition role.
We rally behind Raila’s quest and we wish him best of luck in his endeavor,” he pointed out.
Kalionzo said as Azimio coalition Raila’s candidacy has their blessing and refuted claims that his absence will cause a vacuum.
He was speaking at Mombasa’s Moi international airport in Mombasa county in his two-day tour in the county.
The Azimio Coalition Principal told the media several parties are afflicted members.
Kalonzo refuted claims that he is the de facto leader of Azimio.
He argued he was endorsed by parties under Azimio.
“I have not imposed myself to lead Azimio after Raila’s exit from active politics in his AUC leadership quest,” he said.
