The Kenya premier league fixture between defending champs Gor Mahia F.C and coast based Bandari FC is in limbo.

The first league match is schedule to be played at Ukunda stadium in Kwale county this Sunday.

Bandari FC managed to beat little-known Mara Sugar, promoted last year into the national league, during last weekend fixture with a solitary goal in the 31st minute played during a well attended match at the Mombasa Sports Club.

On Saturday K’ogalo boys will be away in their return match at the hands of Egyptian champions Al Ahly in their CAF Champions League second preliminary.

In their first round match played at Nyayo National Stadium the Green Army was defeated 3-0 by the visiting team.

Bandari football club head coach Ken Odhiambo, speaking after collecting three points at the weekend, down played their yet to be confirmed league encounter with defending champs this Sunday.

He told the media Gor is just like any ordinary local team in the country saying there is no big deal in facing Gor in the league match.

“At the moment my focus is in correcting minor mistakes to enable the team win the league this season,” he pointed out.
