Shocking Details of How Adani Deal was Signed Without Transport Ministry Officials

Transport cabinet secretary Davis Chirchir has come out to deny claims that his ministry was represented during the Adani deal.

He said despite there having been representation from the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport there was no representative from his ministry.

“There is a team of multi government agencies drawn from various departments comprising of 15 people working on the aspect of diligence,” he pointed out.

Chirchir said the diligence report is expected to shed more light on the deal.

He was speaking during a television show on the controversial Adani deal which has made the country the focus of more attention.

The CS said he is still new in the transport docked and it is hardly a month since he took over from his predecessor Onesimus Kipchumba Murkomen.

Chirchir said despite being new in the ministry the ministry is directly linked to the deal.

He told the show the diligence team is headed by Director General, Public Private Partnership, Christopher Kirigua.

“Public Private Partnership has a Secretariat in the Kenya Airport  Authority,” he pointed out.
