Sakaja’s Super Chief Officer Threaten to Shut Down a Church Over Noise Pollution
Residents of Kawangware are enduring severe noise pollution from the Jesus Revival Centre Church, which plays loud music from 6 PM to 9 AM daily.
Complaints filed at Muthangari Police Station on December 1, 2023, were met with police detaining the complainants, while the church’s pastor continued operations unimpeded.
Geoffrey Mosiria, Chief Officer in Charge of Environment who is considered the most hardworking chief officer in Governor Johnson Sakaja’s regime, made an impromptu visit to the church and confirmed that noise levels were excessive at 9 PM, despite a small crowd. He acknowledged the residents’ distress from the noise.
“We have issued a formal notice to the church to reduce noise levels. Failure to comply will lead to legal action,” Mosiria stated.
