ODM Executive Council Retreat Underway in Mombasa
Orange Democratic Movement [ODM] National Executive Committee (NEC) retreat is under way in Mombasa county.
Party deputy leader Abdulswamad Shariff Nassir has confirmed the meeting will take two days at a north coast hotel.
He said on the first day it will be a closed door forum which will be held at Travellers Beach Hotel in Nyali constituency, Mombasa county.
“The two-day meeting has nothing to do with embattled Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua whose fate will be decided by the full House of the Senate,” he pointed out.
Abdulswamad said the party meeting was planned before the process to impeach Gachagua commenced.
He was addressing media alongside the marking of the world mental health day at the Treasury Square in Mvita constituency, Mombasa county.
The Party deputy leader who doubles up as Mombasa governor assured the media at the end of the party retreat they will hold a press conference.
We have also established the two-day meeting will comprise governors, deputy governors, members of the parliamentary groups both at the national assembly and the senate and members.
County assemblies majority and minority leaders and chairpersons of counties and of the 290 branches will also be in attendance.
