Government to Consider Changing Names of Primary Schools Heads
Education CS Julius Migos said the movie is a process which required manpower resource and financial multiplication.
Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Migos Ogamba has assured primary head teachers that the government will look into their request to change their title to principal heads.
He said the movie is a process which required manpower resource and financial multiplication.
“The request is a conversation going into future discussion,” he disclosed adding that the discussion will be made to see whether it’s possible to implement it or not.
He was reacting to questions from the media as pressure mounted for the government following the expanded responsibilities of managing comprehensive learning in line with the Competency Based Curriculum [CBC].
The Education Cabinet Secretary told the media the sector has a place where they can share ideas.
Ogamba sought to put the record straight that to elevate primary head teachers to principal heads is a process and not a journey.
He said the government will weigh the challenges and experience what they can do to chart the way forward.
“There is need to collaborate together with stakeholders in the sector to make the education more hygienic,” he said.
The CS said the move will end crises emerging from the education sector.
Ogamba has at the same time conveyed condolence message to a head teacher who collapsed on his way to attend the closing ceremony.
He said the teacher who hails from Migori County collapsed while crossing the Likoni channel to the Island heading to the north coast for the forum.
“It’s very unfortunate that he died on his way to the closing ceremony,” he disclosed.
