Ngilu Wins Land Dispute Against Squatters at Mombasa Law Court
In a 140 page judgment the court said it entered the judgment in favour of Ngilu as she pleaded in her plaint.
Environment and Land Court judge Lucas Leperes Naikuni has awarded former Kitui governor Charity Ngilu prime land which has been at the centre of a dispute between her and squatters at the Mombasa law courts in Mombasa county.
In a 140 page judgment the court said it entered the judgment in favour of Ngilu as she pleaded in her plaint.
The judge ordered local Officer Commanding Station (OCS) at Chaani police station to enforce the compliance order.
The former governor has been awarded Sh 10 million as general damages for the trespass payable to her by the squatters.
The land dispute involving Ngilu and Salama village residents at Airport ward in Changamwe constituency in Mombasa county has been at the law courts since 2022.
The disputed prime land is worth sh 150 million and it was owned by her late husband Michael Mwendwa. it is bordering the Kenya Ports Authority [KPA] in Mombasa county.
A total of 19 owners of building structures on the disputed land at Salama village were cross-examined during the land ownership row before the court.
