BangBet Limited has once again demonstrated its commitment to supporting vulnerable communities by organizing a food donation event for widows and orphans in Makueni County.

The event, held at Kako Comprehensive School, saw over 1,000 women and children receive essential food supplies to help them celebrate the festive season.

The event was led by Betting Control and Licensing Board (BCLB) Chairperson, Reverend Dr. Jane Makau, a native of Kako. In her speech, she highlighted the significant role that widows play in society, stating,

“Widows are often the pillars of our communities, raising children and keeping households together. It’s crucial that we support them in meaningful ways.”

Dr. Makau praised BangBet for their generous contribution, emphasizing that such acts of kindness go a long way in making a difference in the lives of the less fortunate. BangBet’s Manager, David Gichuhi, reiterated the company’s commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility.

“Our CSR efforts are focused on giving back to the communities that have supported our growth. Today’s event is about providing relief and bringing joy to those who need it most,” he said.

The event also included the commissioning of a borehole project at Kako Comprehensive School, funded by BangBet and the BCLB. This project will provide clean water to the school and surrounding community, helping address the water scarcity challenges in the region.

As the event concluded, it was clear that BangBet’s CSR initiatives are making a tangible difference in the lives of many. The company’s efforts to support vulnerable groups and improve access to essential resources continue to set a positive example for other businesses in Kenya.
